CDA Colombia Passion

CDA Colombia Passion

As I begin to pray for guidance and support on my first overseas mission trip, I felt it would be good to blog/journal the experiences and encouragement given to me from our Heavenly Father.  Most of the mission trips are labor oriented with those that have skilled gifts to support the organization.  This mission trip to Colombia description spoke right to my heart and are the God given gifts that I possess.  "We are looking for team members who possess the ability to share the gospel through play (totally believe this is the best way to reach out to children), music and drama (just joined the terrific Teaching Team at Gateway); a deep love and compassion for children/street children and the capacity to handle large groups of children (yup, I am a teacher) who do not necessarily know how to behave. " Gateway-Mission Trip to Bogota, Colombia All these gifts that this mission team was looking for, is the qualities I possess and love to use at Gateway.

I went to an informational meeting on Thursday and was really touched by the empowerment and progress through God's grace Conviventia-Bogota, Colombia is doing for these children.  The girls' testimonies, ages that were around my boys ages 6-8, talking about how much God has changed their life and what the girl's school is doing for them.  I want to be apart of this mission and I would love for you to partner with me in prayer and sponsorship, if you feel lead to do so.

I have returned to graduate school to pursue, my second, Masters in School Counseling.  I will be on this trip during the teaching school year and miss a week of grad school.  I went to check on my class schedule and the course I will be enrolled in is Cross Cultural Counseling. Wow! I felt that was another way God was showing me this is the trip He wants me to be apart of.

Please continue to put myself and family in your prayers as this marvelous journey unfolds.

"Don't just pretend to love others.  Really love them.  Hate what is wrong.  Hold tightly to what is good.  Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other." Romans 12:9-10 (NLT).

Many blessings & love,
Christina
